ANS OVERUrania Engineering proudly announces an exciting new packaging system

Accurately named the "PACKAGING ANSWER", our system meets the exacting demands of modern packaging, accommodating virtually all pouch types and configurations. Our "PACKAGING ANSWER" efficiently and economically integrates filling, labeling, printing, and sealing.  Serving all dry good industries, the “PACKAGING ANSWER” excels in the Commercial Seed, Medical Device, and Snack Food sectors.

We have developed two versions of the system to accommodate specific customer needs.  Each version offers several options and can be tailored to the end-user’s productivity requirements and budget.

Pouches loaded 'on the fly'

To guarantee optimal cycle rates and minimize operator involvement, Urania has developed a safe and effective method of replenishing the pouch magazine without interrupting the process cycle. Pouches are quickly and safely loaded into a reservoir without stopping the machine.  The magazine accommodates different pouch sizes using a simple thumbscrew / rail adjustment system.

Pouch Edge Detection

Using a laser sensor, the Packaging Answer automatically detects and locates the top edge of each pouch as it is removed from the magazine.  This operation ensures that all functions of the machine are repeatable and justified from the top edge of each pouch.  This allows the operator to load the magazine quickly without having to worry about precise pouch placement, zipper closures aligning, or having to make constant adjustments to subsystems.  By locating each top edge, the system automatically ensures that every label and seal location remains consistent from pouch to pouch.

Ink Jet Printing & Labeling

The Packaging Answer can label or ink-jet print on one or opposite sides of the supplied pouch as required by customer needs.

Label type and location can be changed easily through simple adjustments, in both Print & Apply and Apply only configurations.

Pouch Loading and Sealing

The Packaging Answer can be integrated to an existing Weigh/Dump unit, operated via manual operator loading, or designed to accommodate a customer's current product delivery system.

Our bar sealing mechanism produces consistent seals with an aesthetically unique profile that always outperform those created during the pouch manufacturing process.

Our validatable rotary band heat sealer is also available as an option when the end user’s qualifications require it.

Servo Controlled Adjustments

By using individual servo systems in each critical positioning step of the process, the Packaging Answer adjusts digitally instead of mechanically.  Using our 10” full color HMI, a recipe system is created to store and save positions for each variation of pouch or product a customer produces.  Changing over from one pouch or product to another can be as simple as pressing a few buttons instead of making mechanical adjustments on the machine.  The system can store 100 different digital recipes controlling almost every aspect of the process.
