Vacuum/Gas InjectionThis option would reduce the amount of air in the pouch and replace it with a gas such as nitrogen. The process involves automatically positioning a flat tube into the pouch prior to sealing. The tube is capable of air evacuation and/or gas injection into the pouch. This tube is retracted just prior to the trailing edge of the pouch entering the sealer. Air displacement of 85% is achievable. This means 85% nitrogen/15% air is usually a realistic goal. This would equate to approximately a 3% level of retained oxygen in the pouch. |
